Release date and package

SpookyRick announced the release for 11:00 AM EST on October 23, 2026 ("Be there or be bear"), then posted "Five Nights at Frickbear's: Four Layers Down is OUT NOW!!". Two hotfixes followed the same day — one for a crash when remapping controls and keyboard minigames eating mouse inputs, and one for a softlock with Trash Stacker in Carnie's shop. The current Game Jolt download is version 2.0.2 (about 430 MB zipped).

87 threats: 40 new animatronics

The devlog states that Four Layers Down introduces 40 new animatronics, for a total of 87 threats. Some base-game animatronics also received small tweaks and quality-of-life improvements, and one unrevealed character arrived with more than 35 minutes of voice lines.

New modes

  • Endless mode — Solo: survive as many rounds as you can with 3 lives as a single guard.
  • Endless mode — Party: recruit other guards at the bar; each guard is one life, and different guards change gameplay. A wide range of shopkeepers appears in Endless.
  • Shuffler Mode: an alternate main campaign that randomizes animatronic and minigame positions. Unlocked by beating the base game's true final boss.

Guards, voices and customization

  • New playable guards with special abilities (Endless and Custom Night only, not story mode).
  • The guards are now voiced, and every guard has their own mask sprite.
  • Support for custom offices joins custom guards and custom animatronic skins; an updated Grike template adds custom voice lines and bar dialogue.
  • The extras menu gained new descriptions, concept art and an overhauled trophy menu with 16 new trophies (two of them "forbidden").
